Safe Laparoscopy

This is an international channel dedicated to improving patients’ safety standards and presenting different laparoscopic techniques to continue surgeons’ education on all fields of laparoscopic surgery. The purpose is to focus on: 1. The correct application of diathermy 2. Hemostatic principles 3. The development of surgical spaces with emphasis on topographic anatomy 4. Dissection of the ureter and bladder 5. Avoiding complications 6. The management of complications The intent is to teach safe and effective techniques, not to promote speed or to use the channel as a medium to show off surgical dexterity and prowess. We will present a variety of operations ranging from simple to complex procedures. The Lefkos Stavros multidisciplinary team will carry out most of the operations; however, we encourage all surgeons worldwide to contribute with interesting, educational videos that we will present on our site.
