Claudio von Planta - Documentaries

This channel is a platform to present glimpses of my work as a documentary filmmaker. I worked in over 100 countries around the globe and have more than 35 years of experience. In 1985 I started with reports about Afghan mujahideen fighting against Russians who invaded their country in 1979. I continued with more documentaries about conflicts in the Middle East and Africa, which won prestigious awards. In 2004 I had an opportunity to film the motorcycle TV series Long Way Round where I followed the actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman around the world. In 2007 we continued with Long Way Down across Africa and in 2019 with Long Way Up across South America. I enjoyed the fun of adventure entertainment, and this experience opened new doors for more expedition films. I especially enjoy record-breaking adventures that promote clean-tech innovations for sustainable lifestyles.
