In 2012, Pafos2017 won the title of the European Capital of Culture with the concept of The Open Air Factory and the motto Linking Continents – Bridging Cultures. Τhe Open Air Factory is a celebration of outdoor living culture, in Pafos’ warm climate and beautiful landscapes. It is an opportunity to develop the city’s and the district’s public spaces in order to create links and bridge gaps through the Artistic Programme of events. Pafos2017 started in 2014 to implement a cultural programme, enhancing it in 2015, extending it in 2016 and finally culminating in 2017 with hundreds of events marking the year of the European Capital of Culture.
